How I’m Supporting My Hormones Naturally (Before HRT)

In a recent podcast episode, I shared my personal, real-time approach to navigating hormonal changes before turning to HRT. From debilitating headaches and brain fog to what’s actually helping (and what hasn’t), I’m including you right in the middle of the process - no perfect formula, just honest experience.

I talk about the connection between estrogen and histamine, why progesterone matters so much in this season, and the natural supports I’m using right now - from targeted supplements to simple dietary shifts.

We also zoom out and look at the bigger picture - why hormonal transitions may feel harder today than they did in biblical times, how stress and lifestyle play a role, and why there’s no one “right” path for every woman.

If you’re navigating hormonal shifts - wondering what to try, what’s normal, and what your next step should be - I highly recommend listening to the full episode for options, perspective, and encouragement.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach here. My hope is that this gives you a place to start, some ideas to consider, and reassurance that you’re not alone in this season.

That said, I thought it would be helpful to have a handy resource with all of the supplements and products I mention in the podcast. I get as many of my supplements off of Fullscript as I can in order to get a discount (which is available to you too through my link). But I also have some favorites from other companies and those links and discounts are referenced below. I hope this makes it easy for you to find what you need!

Hormone-Supportive Supplements (Core)

Various combinations of these supplements have been a game changer for me - especially for hormone-related headaches. It helps support the balance between estrogen and progesterone, which can make a big difference in symptoms.

  • Vital Nutrients or Body Bio or Evening Primrose Oil (EPO)

  • Vital Nutrients or Gaia Vitex (Chasteberry)

  • Maca

    • Femmenessence (stage-specific formulas)

    • FemVitality (maca + fenugreek + tribulus)

All of the above are available on Fullscript at a 20% discount

Hormone-Related / Supportive Options

I didn’t use any of these topicals long enough to fully evaluate, which showed me I’m not ready for the commitment of topically applied hormone replacement therapy. LOL But wanted to mention these as options!

  • Quicksilver Scientific Progesterone (topical)

    • Pro Progestesterone

    • Peace Serum (progesterone + calming support)

  • Rowe Casa Hormone Kit

    • P Boost

    • E Balance

    • T Balance

    • Adrenal + Thyroid blend

Libido / Testosterone Support

The Libido Spray gets mixed results but the Intimacy Gel is nice! Came across the drops on Fullscript - looks…interesting.

  • FemVitality (maca blend – also listed above)

  • Rowe Casa Libido Spray

  • Rowe Casa Intimacy Gel

  • Sexual Stimulation Drops (homeopathic – Fullscript)

Organ Supplements

My husband loves the MOFO and has really helped him feel better overall. It does support testosterone so…be warned ladies. LOL!

  • Ancestral Supplements MOFO (Male Optimization Formula with Organs)

  • Ancestral Supplements FEM (Female Enhancement Formula)

Save 15% off first order at Ancestral Supplements with this link and code TCN.

Brain / Mitochondrial Support

The mitochondrial supports from Cellcore have been helpful for brain fog. Creatine has some great research behind it regarding cognitive function.

  • BC-ATP or Mito-Active  (CellCore)

  • Creatine (Thorne) - available on Fullscript

Digestion / Bowel Support

Hormonal changes can lead to changes in bowel motility. Using the lymphatic cream on my belly every night has really helped, but when I need more support I pick from one of the other options.

  • Rowe Casa Lymphatic Cream

  • TUDCA (Body Bio from Fullscript or Advanced TUDCA from Cellcore)

  • Organic India Triphala (Fullscript)

  • Bowel Mover (CellCore)

Food-Based / Nutritional Supports

  • Freshly ground flaxseed over cottage cheese

    • Flaxseed is rich in lignans (phytoestrogens) that can help support hormone balance. I’ve been adding this in more regularly.

  • Broccoli sprouts / sprouts in general

    • Broccoli sprouts are rich in sulforaphane which is apowerful, food-based way to support estrogen metabolism and detox pathways.

Final Thoughts

One thing I’ve always wrestled with is this:
Why do we feel like we need HRT today when our biblical sisters didn’t have access to it?

And what I’ve come to understand is - we’re not living in the same world.

Our food, our stress, our light exposure, our rhythms… all of it is different. And all of it impacts our hormones.

But we also see in Scripture that they used what God provided - like mandrakes in the story of Rachel and Leah - to support their bodies.

And just as important, they lived with strong foundations:
real food, daily movement, sunlight, and natural rhythms.

Hormonal transition isn’t meant to be miserable - but when we’re depleted and stressed, it can feel that way.

So whether you choose natural support, BHRT, or a combination of both - there’s no one right path.

Just the right path for you.

Don’t forget to listen to the podcast episode for full context. I hope you find all of these resources helpful!
