180: Fat & Carb Energy Toxicity
If you want to be metabolically fit, it’s important to understand the way your body burns carbohydrates and fats as energy. It generally focuses on one fuel source at a time and, because carbs turn to sugar, it’s the metabolic priority. You can’t have too much sugar circulating so the body has to deal with it first. The problem is, if you’re keeping your body too busy burning sugar, it doesn’t have the opportunity to burn fat. This leads to fat accumulation and, over time, a less efficient metabolism.
In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how to avoid energy toxicity so that your body can burn both carbs and fats effectively. We use strategies like the carb/fat seesaw, fasting and exercise in order to stay metabolically fit.

Seeking all avenues to help their child, Vinny’s parents took him to a holistic health specialist who put him on a detoxification protocol. Within days, they saw improvement and continue to see Vinny make incredible progress.

My guest, Terri Ward, wrote a book called The Healing Diverticulitis Cookbook which lays out a plan that includes a 3-day clear liquids phase, then a 2-week low fiber recovery phase, and then a high fiber maintenance phase. I think it’s a great digestive reset whether you have diverticulitis or not! 🙋Some of us don’t do well with a lot of fiber and we have an interesting discussion about that along with more general gut health topics. 173: The Electron Diet
I have been much more focused on my electron diet than my food diet. It turns out, the more electrons we have in our body the better our metabolism - and every other system - works. You have a little more “wiggle room” with your diet when you have good electron flow.
God designed us to get electrons in three major ways: through sunshine, through grounding and through food. But we get them the most abundantly through the sun and the earth. It always comes back to our Genesis Prescription and in this week’s episode we’re making more connections about the amazing way God made our body to work in relation to Creation. Come listen to more intimately know God as your Mighty Healer and Provider.
