171: Foundational Protocol FAQ
I am about to guide a client group through a detox protocol that I have found to be incredibly effective and powerful. In this week’s podcast, I’m explaining what that is and how we go about it. I’m answering your most pressing questions like:
What it does
How long it takes
How much it costs
What to eat while you’re going through it
What you can expect along the way
Most everyone can benefit from this kind of protocol (ever taken an antibiotic? been exposed to a toxin? eaten a poor diet? relied on over-the-counter or prescription medications? You are a good candidate!)
Listen in to hear the details and consider joining us!

170: Clean Fasting vs Dirty Fasting
People often ask me what is or isn’t allowed during a fast. Does lemon water break my fast? Does creamer in my coffee break my fast? Does stevia break my fast? Do supplements break my fast?
I thought it would be a good time to address this topic since we are about to kick off a new round of Feast 2 Fast® and - spoiler alert - you might want to start weaning off your sweet coffee now.
The bottom line is that people want to know what they can consume during a fast and because this question has become so common and, because there is nuance and gray area, the concept of Clean vs Dirty fasting has emerged as a nutritional hot topic.
Listen to this week’s episode to get the specifics and decide which category best suits your needs and goals.

169: A Look Inside My Summer Food Journal
I’m back after my short hiatus! In this week’s episode we’re talking about the food journal I kept this summer which, in truth, I’m a little cringey about sharing with you.
I’m much more feasty in the summertime. I eat more carbs; I don’t fast as long; I drink more wine. Tis the season of longer days, looser schedules, less regiment, lots of social activity and lots of Heck Yeahs. I definitely ate, drank and was merry!
The purpose of the journal is not to give you a shining blueprint of how to eat, but to be real and transparent about how I eat. One of the best ways to teach you grace and sustainability in your eating habits is to show you how I have them in mine. We don’t have to eat perfectly all of the time, as long as we have some core nutrition and good habits in place most of the time. Download the journal and listen to the podcast for an insider look at the food, the strategy and the grace that I incorporate into my real life way of eating.

168: From Chaos to Order
Our bodies are a creation of order. We are fearfully and wonderfully made and not meant to live in bodies in a state of chaos. Poor health comes from disorder in the body. When there is disorder, there is disease. A state of ill-health can be looked at as a state of chaos- the absence of God’s order. It is being out of alignment with the way He made us. There is some element of His Presence or His Provision that is missing.
We can establish peace and order in the body by following the order in which God established Creation. He deliberately ordered the foundation of the universe which mirrors the foundational needs of our bodies. This is the essence of The Genesis Prescription. Everything we need to know for good health is revealed to us In the Beginning.
Come listen as we discuss the 8 essential elements of good health and how to restore order to the body. And come join us as we apply them this summer in The Genesis Prescription program. More info here.

167: Ancestral Living for Modern Health with Holistic Hilda
Butter, broth, meat, organs, raw dairy, salt, ferments - these are the traditional foods that kept our ancestors healthy and thriving. Nutritional pioneer Dr. Weston A Price found that the further people deviated from these foods, the more sick and physically compromised they became.
In this week’s podcast, guest Hilda Labrada Gore and I highlight some of Dr. Price’s most important discoveries and how they are so much in alignment with real food the way God made it. She shares stories of her interaction with indegenous people across the globe and the wise ways they honor traditional living for optimal health.

166: Calming Your Nervous System with Carly Stagg, MSN, RN, FNP-C
🙋Ever feel like your nerves are shot? Our nervous system should be able to shift in and out of calm and stress gears but many of us get stuck in the stress mode. This is a problem because the nervous system affects EVERY system in the body. When it can’t shift back to calm, it wreaks havoc on our physical and mental health.
In this week’s episode, Nurse Practitioner and FNTP, Carly Stagg, shares that she often sees this as a roadblock to her patients’ healing and has had to incorporate strategies in her practice to help people shift their nervous systems back into the parasympathetic/calm state in order to facilitate the healing process.
Come listen to determine whether your nervous system is in the ventral, sympathetic or dorsal state and the tools she uses to shift it back into a calm, healthy baseline.

165: When You Feel Icky About Yourself
✅ Social Media Ick
✅ Parenting Ick
✅ Body Ick
I’ve felt a lot of ick about myself lately. I’ve noticed it from several angles and realized that the stress of some of it has pushed me to the brink of crashing. In this week’s podcast we’re talking about having awareness around times you feel “icky” about yourself and how that can affect your health spiritually, mentally and physically. I gained five pounds and teetered on the edge of emotional breakdown until I made a decision to step back and give myself some space.
This week’s episode is a little rambly and teary but, ultimately, I hope I’m setting a good example of walking the talk when it comes to self-stewardship.

Did you know that mental health issues can stem from nutritional deficiencies? Particularly an amino acid deficiency?
In this week’s episode, Christina Veselak - licensed psychotherapist, functional nutritionist and founder of the Academy for Addiction & Mental Health Nutrition, explains how issues like depression, anxiety, poor focus, insomnia, perfectionism, anger, worry, obsessive thinking, self shame, addiction and even the inability to forgive can all be due to a lack of the amino acids that build our mood mediating neurotransmitters. She has seen increased protein intake and targeted amino acid therapy save marriages, prevent panic attacks, stave off suicidal thoughts and remedy Attention Deficit Disorder.
