100: Gut Reset to Budge Weight Loss
The two times I’ve done a gut health protocol, it has shifted my body weight set point down (and I wasn’t even eating as healthfully as I normally do!). I wasn’t trying to lose weight in either situation but it was a side benefit of killing off bad bacteria and addressing leaky gut. Many people don’t realize how the wrong bacteria can make you hold onto weight or steadily gain weight as you age.
In this week’s podcast we’re talking about why gut dysbiosis can lead to weight gain or a weight plateau and the five important components of a gut health protocol.

99: Ancient Remedies with Dr. Josh Axe
CBD oil for anxiety? Chasteberry for PMS? Stinging Nettle for allergies?
In this week’s podcast I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Josh Axe about his new book, Ancient Remedies. It’s an amazing resource that incorporates the very best of ancient healing traditions from around the world and is full of specific advice on how to holistically approach some of the most common health conditions that we face.
I also asked him some hot topic questions like: What do you think of ingesting essential oils? Is meat a healthy part of our diet? Is it ok to eat wheat? Do you eat pork and shellfish?
Listen is as the founder of the world’s #1 most visited natural health website weighs in on these questions and so much more!

97: Iridology with Dr. Rebecca Thomas
One of the many topics covered in this week’s podcast with Naturopath and Iridologist, Dr. Rebecca Thomas, is our belief that God would not create the body to attack itself. This is the conventional thought regarding autoimmune conditions but we discuss how the body is innately wise and designed to heal because that’s how our Creator made us.
Listen in as we talk amazing things about the body, including how Dr. Thomas uses iridology and sclerology as a health assessment tool. She was able to recognize my past and present gut health, my family’s genetic tendencies, the fact that I need lymphatic support and so much more - ALL by studying the patterns in my eye. Fascinating!

96: Biblical Food Observations from Genesis
Do you know one of the first things Noah did after he moved on with life after the ark? He planted a vineyard.
I feel you Noah!
I’d want wine too if I’d been stuck on a boat with my family and a bunch of stinking animals for all that time.
The good news is Noah would have been able to enjoy his wine with a plate of meat since God had just started permitting animal foods to be eaten after the flood.
These are the kinds of interesting insights we’re talking about in this week’s podcast. I reread the book of Genesis to find all of the foodie highlights. Come listen as we talk about plants, meat, erotic herbs and who got so hangry he made a poor life decision.

95: Time Management (plus my latest sign from God)
I don’t know about you, but the other thing I am inspired to do in the New Year, aside from kicking off health goals, is fill in my new planner. I have a whole new time management strategy this year based on a framework I learned from a life coach plus the inspiration of a book called Stewarding Life. I’m talking all about it in this week’s podcast.
If we’re not intentional about the way we use our time, we’ll stay on the treadmill of life as it flies past us. We want to be creators of the life we want to live, not bystanders watching it pass us by!
Wednesday Word: Be Made New

94: Shiny Diet Syndrome
Have you ever been in the middle of eating all the “bad” things, feeling disgusting in your body, shaming yourself in your mind as you’re stuffing your face with food, but, as you’re doing it, you’re thinking about the new diet you swear you’re about to start and you get a high, euphoric feeling about how skinny and fabulous you’re going to be?
The binge almost feels justified in the moment because the “righteousness” of the upcoming diet kind of cancels out what you’re doing. But by the time D-Day (diet day) rolls around, whatever magic plan you were dreaming of as you were stuffing your face doesn’t turn out to be so magic after all and, before you know it, you’re right back in the same situation - overeating, swearing it off, and dreaming of your NEW magical shiny diet - the one that’s really going to work this time.
This has happened to me plenty of times and it wasn’t until I understood the concept of dopamine that I realized how we can get “addicted” to the high of planning new diets.
The problem is, this can lead to “shiny diet syndrome” where we hop from one diet to another but never hit our stride with what works.
Before you consider the next diet you’re going to do, listen to this week’s podcast. You’ve got to retrain your squirrel brain if you want to find your long-term health success.

93: Eating Bread Without Mind Drama
One of the biggest gifts you can give yourself is peace with food. That’s where it all comes together for me - peace with the Lord, peace with food.
After years of avoiding bread, feeling guilty about sugar, being fat-phobic and then carb-phobic, I’ve finally settled into a way of eating minus the mind drama.
It’s what I feel led to teach despite the popular diet trends or what other people may be teaching.
In this week’s podcast, I’m sharing the story of my evolution with bread - both the flour kind and the Jesus kind. At one time I avoided both and, now, I feast on them! I hope explaining the steps I’ve taken over the years to improve my approach helps you to love and eat bread with no mind drama.

92: God and Wine with Gisela Kreglinger
In this week’s podcast we’re talking about two of my favorite things: God and wine!
I interviewed the author of The Soul of Wine who says “wine can help us uncork a more full-bodied Christian spirituality.”
She reminds us that God blesses us with the fruits of the earth. She reminds us that Jesus enjoyed wine, food and dinner parties so much that his fellow Jews accused him of being a glutton and a drunkard! She reminds us that drinking wine is part of the way we honor and celebrate Jesus as our Savior.
It’s everything I love and savor about honoring our bodies and the Creator of our bodies. You’ll never look at wine in the same way after you experience it with this beautiful perspective.
