Episode 293: Glyphosate, Gut, Brain, and Parasites with Carol Egan

In this week’s episode we’re having a really important conversation about glyphosate which is an herbicide used to kill plants and weeds (it’s the main ingredient in Round Up) and, unfortunately, makes its way into food crops like wheat, oats, corn, soy and rapeseed (canola oil). It’s also very prevalent in the water supply which means we are exposed to it in many ways. Toxin expert and researcher Carol Egan is exposing how glyphosate hijacks biochemical pathways that lead to multifaceted health issues. In this episode we cover:

  • The devastating antibiotic-like impact that glyphosate has on the gut microbiome

  • How glyphosate disrupts neurotransmitter production

  • How glyphosate is a glycine impostor which  leads to collagen degradation in the joints, skin, and connective tissue

  • The way glyphosate interferes with the mitochondria making energy

This is an area that needs some #maha intervention but, in the meantime, we need to make every personal effort to avoid this disruptive chemical. You’ll be very motivated after listening to this conversation!
