What Should I Put In My Coffee?

One of the most common questions I get is- what should I put in my coffee? This post will reveal good, better, and best options for your morning cup of joe!


My Favorite Coffees


Creamer Options


  • Almond Milk (make sure it’s free of carrageenan)

  • Nut Pods

  • Refrigerated Organic Non-Dairy Creamers (Soy and carrageenan free)

    All these options are a bit more processed, and get your taste buds used to sweetness first thing in the morning!



  • Coconut Milk

    • Personally, I opt for 1/2 scoop of collagen and a splash of pure organic coconut milk in each cup. I don’t use sweetener, either!

  • Organic Heavy Whipping Cream

  • Butter Coffee (I recommend a maximum of 1 tsp butter, 1 tsp. coconut oil/ brain octane oil).

    • Brew organic coffee, then add it to a high speed blender with your fat(s) of choice. Blend until smooth. Add collagen once fats are incorporated and process for 10-15 seconds to incorporate.

      • Collagen is a fragile protein, to ensure it stays intact it’s best to blend it in at the end!

    • Why not Bulletproof Coffee?

      • Traditional “bulletproof coffee” recipes have much higher quantities of butter and coconut oil which encourage your body to use this external fat source instead of burning its own fat.

    These “best” options are all Real Food and just 1-2 ingredients.

The Skinny on Sweeteners

  • It is best to completely avoid sweetener in your coffee as it can increase cravings!

  • If you must have sweet coffee, use either liquid stevia drops or evaporated cane juice, and slowly decrease the amount so your taste buds can adjust.
