73: Back to School, Back to Health, Back to God
The state of our world has driven lots of us to seek comfort in food and drink. We’ve let more sugar, flour, alcohol creep into our daily routines and, even though we know it feels yucky, it’s hard to stop!
Things remain uncertain as we move into this back-to-school season, but what IS certain is that we don’t show up as our best selves when we’re bloated from sugar, dragging from poor sleep, foggy from wine and anxious from lack of exercise. We think more negatively, we’re moodier with our families and we’re less patient with our neighbors. That serves no one.
It’s time to clean things up - in our spirits, in our minds, and in our bodies.
In this week’s podcast, I’m sharing back-to-school inspiration and practical food and supplement tips. We can’t control what’s happening in the world, but we can control what’s happening in our homes and in our bodies. We can seek comfort in the Lord and in bodies that show up strong and ready-to-serve.

*81% of the public already have immune response to virus
*Quarantining has delayed hitting Herd Immunity Threshold
*True peace boils down to your personal walk with Jesus - the Truth.

71: Overcoming Scale Drama
The scale says 150 lbs. What are you thinking?
Some of you are thinking - this is amazing!
Others of you are thinking - this is awful!
How can that be? It’s the exact same number.
The number is neutral. It’s what you think ABOUT the number that makes it mean anything. That’s why two people can see the same number but make it mean completely different things.
One person can make it mean she’s great and spend the day feeling happy and carefree.
The other can make it mean she’s a failure and spend the day feeling depressed and hopeless.
It’s all in what you make it mean about yourself and what you do with that information.

70: UnMasking Health Truths with Erin Kerry
We’re being told to wear masks, but are we being told to eat real food? To move our bodies? To drink plenty of water? To get some sunshine? To be personal advocates for our own wellness? To me, it’s like the big elephant in the room.
The Covid virus should be opening more discussion and lighting fires under our butts about taking better care of ourselves. Slapping on a mask may be the “least” you can do - but why do you want to settle for the least? You’re made for more than that. You have SO much power and provision when it comes to your health. Masks are short-game; let’s talk the long-game of health that makes you strong and resilient.
In this week’s podcast, Integrative Health Coach Erin Kerry is joining me to unmask some real truths about personal wellness. We discuss five key areas to consider when it comes to managing your health. Listen in and then get busy showing up for yourself and your wellness.

68: Heck Yeah Self-Control
When it comes to food, boundaries give you freedom. Setting up walls of discernment about what’s really worth it to you to eat (Heck Yeah!) spares you the shame, guilt, negotiation and overall mind drama when it comes to food. You don’t have to give up your favorite chips, cookies or other treat foods- you just have to be thoughtful and intentional about incorporating them into your diet.
If you feel like your boundary walls have been dynamited or you’re still wandering the wilderness of sugar, flour and alcohol, then this week’s podcast is for you. I’m sharing strategy and scripture to help you rebuild your walls and maintain self-control.

67: Men, Moods, Motivation, and Mojo
Did you know men can be affected by hormonal imbalance? Their energy, moods, weight, heart health and overall outlook on life are heavily influenced by the state of their hormones.
Many men don’t realize how their diet and lifestyle habits are triggering their body to convert testosterone into estrogen which makes them have the “Low T” that leads to weight gain, man boobs and poor stamina. In this week’s podcast I’m explaining what’s going on with men’s hormones and how to get things into better balance. Ladies, listen in to get a better understanding of what your man is going through and tell him to listen too. This will be an eye opener for the guys!

65: Why You Need More Protein
I feel like when we see Jesus in a food scene in the Bible it’s often with fish and bread. And maybe some wine. LOL And when the Isrealites were wandering the wilderness all those years, God provided them meat (quail) and bread. I think it’s important in this plant-centric dietary space we’re in to remember that Biblical people were not exclusively vegetarians. Now, listen, I love veggies and want you to eat a bunch of them. Eat fruit, too. Grains? If you can handle them. Many people can’t due to compromised guts - a problem our Biblical ancestors didn’t have like we do today. (They didn’t have glyphosate and antibiotics and drive-thrus).
God provided us food from both the plant and animal kingdoms (Gen 1:29 & Gen 9:3). The balance is what leads to our optimal health!
In this week’s podcast we’re talking protein: why you need it, how much you need and why animal sources provide superior amino acid utilization.
It’s the macronutrient of satiety, body composition and the skeletal muscle that leads to longevity.
