What Should I Put In My Coffee?

One of the most common questions I get is- what should I put in my coffee? Here are some upgraded options for your morning cup of joe! ☕️

My Favorite Coffees

Creamer Options

Good…

  • Refrigerated Unsweetened Almond or Coconut Milk - Califia is a high quaility brand free of carrageenan, a seaweed-based thickener that causes gut inflammation.

  • Nut Pods

  • Refrigerated Organic Non-Dairy Creamers (Soy and carrageenan free)

These are classified as “good” because are a bit more processed than the other options, and get your taste buds used to sweetness first thing in the morning!

Better…

Best!

  • Coconut Milk

  • Organic Cream, Half & Half or Milk
I classify these as the best because they are simple, real food ingredient options.
I also regularly add this or this plain collagen to my coffee.

The Skinny on Sweeteners

  • It is best to completely avoid sweetener in your coffee as it can increase cravings and appetite.

  • If you must have sweet coffee, use either honey, organic sugar, evaporated cane juice, liquid stevia drops or monk fruit. Do your best to wean off sweet coffee so as not to disrupt hunger cues and blood sugar balance.

I hope this cleared up some of the confusion around coffee! I’d love to hear about your winning coffee combo- and pictures are welcomed as well. Let me know what you put in your coffee in the comments below!

XOXO,
